Set it. Raise it. Be it.

The Standard is Canada’s premier networking and advocacy platform addressing systemic barriers to employment advancement and the inclusion of Canadian Black Women in the sector of Marketing.

The Standard is a space – for us, by us – to foster a strong network of support within our community. We are a collective voice addressing the realities and impacts of systemic racism.

Representation matters especially within an industry that defines and shapes brands and consumer beliefs.

Commitment to carving out, equitable opportunities for Black Women should not just be a timely, performative act, it has to become The Standard.

Our Promise

Elevate the Standard

We’re focused on an intersectional approach that sets a new Standard to center and support Black Canadian Women in the marketing sector. By partnering with leading corporations, we are committed to carving out equitable opportunities and a safe space for Black women.

Educate the Community

A members-first organization, The Standard is committed to building a national community with a full suite of member benefits and resources, including professional development programming, expert advice, industry insight, job opportunities and networking experiences.

Accelerate the Industry

The marketing industry needs more Black women in leadership positions. By establishing a sustainable model and pipeline of support, the Standard will increase pathways of success for Black women to be leaders in the marketing industry.
